Humans and animals have been able to coexist peacefully since ancient times. After all these years, this will never change.

The Asian elephant, the younger brother of the African elephant (Loxodonta africana), is known for its intelligence and unique personality.

This is reflected in the structure of the brain, which has a large and very complex neocortex similar to that of humans, great apes and some dolphins. Asian elephants process information well, with more complex cognitive processes than the monkeys most closely related to humans. Asian elephants have been repeatedly observed moving to safer areas during natural disasters such as tsunamis or earthquakes.

Asian elephants often comfort each other when they are suffering, a study by scientists has proven. The elephants in the study used both physical contact and sound as well as gestures of comfort, touching each other’s bodies and singing. The study concluded that this behavior is “best classified as an ape-like comfort response, possibly based on convergent evolution of empathy”.

This also partly explains why young elephants in elephant herds are always overprotected by their fathers, mothers and other members of the herd. Even, elephant moms and dads are ready to do anything to ensure the utmost safety of their little ones.

Recently, an incident happened that made the people in the village even more impressed by the kinship between the elephants in the herd.

That evening, the usual peaceful scene in the village was suddenly broken by the miserable cries from the wasteland. This caused a commotion and the next day a group of young people came to see what was going on.

It turned out that a baby elephant about a few months old was trapped under the concrete pit. After a long search, its mother finally found the lost child. With its bulky body and small hole, it was impossible for this animal to save its baby. The situation gradually deteriorated, and the female elephant was electrocuted by the fence and fainted.

Faced with this tragic situation, people turned off the power in time and helped the elephant up. Until this moment, the elephant brought people to the place where the baby elephant was trapped, hoping to get help from humans.

The condition of the baby elephant was not much better. He was very scared and exhausted from being trapped for so long. The problem for the rescue team at this point is to dig around quickly while being very careful not to cause harm to the baby elephant.

Thanks to everyone’s consensus and determination, the rescue team successfully completed the mission. After a moment of bewilderment, to the joy and emotion of all witnesses, the baby elephant pounced on its mother’s lap.
